Webinar with San Marino Mayor Ken Ude

The featured speaker for the San Marino City Club’s first meeting of the year to be held January 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. is the new Mayor of the City of San Marino, Mr. Ken Ude. Mayor Ude will be speaking about the state of the City and updating the City Club on the status of many of the key projects and issues that the City is currently facing.
Ken Ude was passed the gavel in December and will be the mayor through 2021. He is a 35-year resident of San Marino and was elected to the City Council in November 2017. Professionally, Ude was CEO of a number of private equity backed companies in a variety of industries ranging from a race car driving school, to woman’s cosmetics to PODS portable storage. His campaign slogan when he ran for Council was “San Marino is the $30m business and should be run like one”. His focus on the Council has been in the financial, operational and capital improvements areas. More recently he was Director of the USC Family Business Program that has led him into consulting with family-owned businesses as they grow their businesses and plan for generational transitions.
Ude is a graduate of the University of Southern California where he earned his undergraduate degree, MBA and a master’s in Public Relations. Ken and his wife, Cathy, raised their 3 daughters, Carolyn, Kristen and Allison in San Marino where they went through the public school system. He was active in youth sports programs and was a member of the Schools Foundation where he invented the yard signs. He was also President of the Foundation of San Marino Community Church.
The City Club will also have “10 minute” updates from the San Marino City Manager, Dr. Marcella Marlowe, and from the Superintendent of the San Marino Unified School District, Dr. Jeff Wilson.

The San Marino City Club is a non-profit civic organization that since 1926 has been dedicated to obtaining for the citizens of the San Marino the best civic, educational and cultural services and facilities possible, and to encouraging and promoting the highest standards of citizenship among its membership. City Club membership is open to residents of the San Marino Unified School District, officials of the School District or the City of San Marino, persons who conduct their business or profession within the School District or persons who have a significant and ongoing relationship with the San Marino Community. Membership provides the member with eight meetings that feature timely, important, and informative speakers of both local and national interest and on a wide variety of subjects, and the opportunity to meet many of San Marino’s elected officials, city and school district leaders and of course its wonderful citizens.
